Road Ranger Issues Statement Regarding July 26 Fueling Incident
(Schaumburg, Illinois) On July 26, 2025, Road Ranger experienced an isolated fueling incident due to a critical error made by a third-party fuel vendor. The vendor incorrectly filled our underground fuel tanks with the wrong type of fuel, affecting several vehicles at our Marion, Illinois location.
We want to reassure our customers that no fire or long-term safety risk is present at this location, and the moment the issue was identified, Road Ranger team members acted swiftly and responsibly—immediately shutting down all fuel pumps at the site. At this time, there is no evidence that the fueling error directly caused any fire damage to vehicles, and it’s important to note that diesel-in-gasoline engine misfuels typically do not lead to vehicle fires.
Our tanks have since been fully cleared, cleaned, and tested, and fuel operations have resumed to their usual highest industry standards.
The third-party vendor whose error caused the incident is actively working with impacted customers to resolve any vehicle issues or damages.
If you or someone you know was affected by this incident, please contact us directly at social@roadrangerusa.com so we can ensure your case is handled promptly and professionally.
We deeply value the trust our customers place in us, and we remain committed to providing safe, reliable fueling experiences across every Road Ranger location.
